The Naarm producer teams up with Italy’s TSVI on the 5-track Caldo Verde EP.
They say you should always save your best for last. In the case of DJ Plead’s latest release, this couldn’t ring truer.
Off the back of a flurry of thrilling collabs in recent months (with the likes of rRoxymore, Logic1000 and Phillip Jondo, no less) the Lebanese-Australian hard drum producer has now teamed up with Italy’s TSVI on Caldo Verde – a 5-track EP of bouncy dance floor stompers infused with Middle Eastern vignettes.
“We wrote the entire project over the course of three days when Jarred was in London last winter,” TSVI said of the new mini album.
“We didn’t plan much; we were just having fun in the studio, making dance music. So we hope you’ll enjoy the EP as much as we did making it!”
Released on the exceptionally dependable AD 93 imprint, the EP’s standout cuts (in our humble opinion) are ‘Triple It’ – a funk-fuelled bass line bolstered by an unforgiving kick drum – and ‘Gallop’, which does exactly what it says on the tin.
DJ Plead is set to play Club 77 on Saturday December 14 with Eora DJ and FBi Sunset host Rydeen in support. Event info here
