Building on Club 77’s three-decade legacy as a vital hub for nightlife culture, CSS channels the same drive and commitment into an independent and artist-first agency grounded in ethical principles, fair partnerships and transparent communication. Championing acclaimed Eora DJs and producers, CSS supports artist ambitions and long-term development.
Headed by Mac Weily and Dane Gorrel with creative direction from Gabrielle White, CSS represents DJs and producers spanning generations and musical styles, united by deep roots in Australia’s underground electronic music scene. Barney Kato, Phil Smart, Mazzacles, Barney in the Tunnel and Reenie comprise the first signings, with further additions to be announced. Working closely with promoters, venues and festivals, CSS creates opportunities that reflect each artist’s distinctive identity and sound while fostering lasting relationships across the industry.

CSS will also bring renowned international DJs and live acts to Australian shores, working with local promoters, venues and festivals to deliver thoughtfully curated tours. Upcoming November tours include revered German selector Move D and Manchester’s genre-spanning Tarzsa, setting the tone for an international program guided by the same musical curiosity and commitment to dancefloor culture that define Club 77.

Commenting on the launch of the new agency, CSS's Mac Weily, said:
“CSS is a natural extension of what we’ve always done at Club 77: back artists we believe in and bring people together through music. We want to give our roster the support to grow on their own terms, while bringing renowned and emerging international DJs and live acts to Australian dancefloors.”

Barney Kato
Originally hailing from Newcastle, for over 20 years Mr. Kato has been whipping dance floors into a frothy lather with cutting edge sounds and an encyclopaedic knowledge of electronic music. Flexing a 4000+ record collection spanning house, breakbeats, electro, techno and disco, he has enthralled dance floors, warehouse bashes and festival stages from Sydney to Berlin and beyond.
Beyond the booth, Barney has played a pivotal role in Sydney's underground through his long-running Alien parties, bringing internationally acclaimed artists such as Roman Flügel, Gerd Janson, Tornado Wallace and Nicolas Lutz to our dance floors. His curatorial nous includes the Sydney Opera House, where he's hosted a string of acclaimed Vivid LIVE Studio parties, further cementing his reputation as one of the city's respected champions of electronic music.

Barney in the Tunnel
From the magical mountains of Eora, two buds transcend time and space to make synthesised audio soup for ears and dancefloors alike. Barney in the Tunnel brings together the combined imaginations of Barney Kato and Tunnel Signs, aka Ash Moses. Together, they stir house, electro and techno into a bubbling brew of cosmic oddities and irresistible grooves.
Their self-titled debut EP landed on Berlin’s Cashminus in 2020, while subsequent productions have found fans in Gerd Janson, Skatebård, Special Request and Lauer. Taking their studio experiments into the booth, their hybrid live and DJ performances have reached Vivid LIVE at Sydney Opera House, serving original material with playful energy and a taste for the unexpected at every turn.

Mazzacles
DJ, radio host, producer, and our resident young gun, Mazzacles (Madi) holds a deep reverence for everything old school. Her sound is steeped in soul, funk and disco, though she is just as comfortable playing downtempo groovers or holding down a floor with raw jacking house. Her dedication to honouring dance music, DJing and the legacy of electronic music extends into her role at FBi Radio, where she produces Simon Caldwell’s Monday Sunsets show, alongside occasional music journalism aligned projects.
Having supported esteemed acts such as Marcellus Pittman, Theo Parrish and Sound Metaphors, you can always expect eclectic, far-flung, but always classy musical references from Mazzacles. Significant event appearances include Sydney’s Mode Festival and celebrated Hobart institution, Dark Mofo. On the mix front, Madi has gifted sterling entries to the esteemed Crown Ruler and Planet Trip mix series respectively.

Phil Smart
Australian fixture and scene icon Phil Smart has been spinning forward thinking electronic music in clubs, bars, warehouses, fields, deserts and carparks since the rave era. With a diverse sound ranging from deep house, techouse, minimal and warm techno to eclectic bar room beats, decades spent honing his craft is evident in Phil’s ability to connect with the dance floor and hold the energy for hours on end.
Still spoken of in hushed tones, Phil’s all night long warehouse party for Motorik paved the way for regular seven-hour sessions at Club 77, cementing his mastery of the long-form set. As a producer, he's released music on Motorik, Junkbeats, Thunk and Future Classic, while honours include Australian DJ of the Year in 2000 and a place in DJ Mag's Top 100. More recently, his Tempo Comodo series has championed slower tempos, while Be Hear Now explores the restorative power of ambient through immersive sound baths.

Reenie
One of Eora’s go-to selectors, Reenie has carved a unique path in the scene. A background in classical percussion and playing for indie bands Good Pash and PANSY has developed her sharp ear, keen sense of rhythm and razor precision behind the decks. Whether she’s flexing electro, acid, breakbeat, chuggy house or weirdo oddities, no matter the vibe, Reenie always has dance floors locked and curious.
On point productions have cemented Reenie as a producer to watch, from the Amirite / Zero Sum EP with Tunnel Signs to her warped and bass-heavy remix of Jack Ladder’s I’m Melting. Always a passionate supporter of the scene, away from the decks Reenie hosts Motorik Sunset on FBi Radio, Crossing The Streams on 2SER, and can be found slinging wax and sharing her deep musical knowledge behind the counter of The Record Store. You may even catch her beaming a smile from the front row of a Sydney gig.
